Do you have "Curb Appeal"?

Whether you are selling your home or just looking to keep up with the neighbors, curb appeal is the best way to add top dollar or get your house noticed. First impressions from potential home buyers are critical and can make or break a sale.

A couple of simple tips include; cut back hedges and trees - you want to see the house, mow the yard, keep walk-way clear of bushes, branches and debris, look for view opportunities, make sure pavers or stepping stones are secure and make sure fence is stable and not leaning.

If you are looking for some helpful hints to get your garden in top-top shape, visit the NW Flower and Garden Show this weekend. Our favorite Garden Designer and Landscaping company is Falling Water Designs. Not only do they provide amazing landscape and/or water feature design and installation, they just recently opened a nursery too. If you are at the show, stop by the garden on the main floor and tell Rick and Ken hello. Or you can visit them at http://www.fallingwaterdesigns.com/

Good luck with your landscaping projects!

Seattle Housing Market STRONG!

Every time we turn on the news we hear about the housing market in a slump. But unfortunately that news doesn't reflect the robust Seattle market. Seattle and the Pacific Northwest are unique for a variety of reasons. Whether it's our strong economy, excellent job rate or housing appreciation rates; Seattle is HOT!

Here are some key things regarding Seattle:

  • The housing market is undergoing a natural cyclical correction.
  • Low mortgage rates give buyers more house for their money.
  • Washington, Oregon and Idaho have below national average (1 in 617) homes in foreclosure.
  • Washington State's overall appreciation from Oct 2006-Oct 2007 increased 6.98%.
  • The Pacific Northwest has one of the strongest economies in the nation.
  • Increased inventories provide more choices for buyers.
  • Our housing market is strong. The Northwest has "West Coast affordability".
Whether you are a first time home buyer or a "seasoned pro", now is the time to consider buying. Rates are low, inventory is good, and sellers are willing to make deals. Just remember, be reasonable in your offers, as sellers are not giving stuff away.
